domestic glimpse.5

This avocado tree , started from a pit, has reached a height which exceeds mine.

The patina on the walnut cabinet of this grandfather clock is marvelous. Purchased in Frankfurt, Germany from two gentlemen, approximately thirty years ago, it had been rescued from an attic in Austria. One of the clock workers restored the cabinet, the other the workings of the clock itself. The weights, clock face and pendulum feature a rose pattern hammered into the brass. Beveled glass panels and two-weighted Westminster chimes which chime at every quarter hour and strike the time on the hour , add to its elegance.
