Put a cork in it!

Accumulated corks from wine and champagne bottles provide a blockade to burning hot handles of my pots and pans. Simply wedge several corks under the handle and avoid clumsy hot pads when lifting lids while cooking!

Golf in the Desert...

The Colonel and I , along with a couple of golfing pals, recently returned from a wonderful trip to the desert in Arizona for four days of golf. At the JW Marriott Desert Ridge Resort, we enjoyed several rounds at the Wildfire Golf Club on two courses designed by Arnold Palmer and Nick Faldo. Weather was cool, though pleasant. An amazing change of scenery for me, I was enthralled with the flora and fauna found there, such as this fishhook cactus and a Black-crowned Night Heron.
Great food and drink as well as abundant walking paths are featured throughout the property.

I stopped to take a look at an on site herb garden which provides the restaurants with fresh herbs year round.

Charleston: Spring in Full Bloom

The hues in wisteria are just beautiful.

Pots of spring posies lined these steps. I would have sat down and pulled out a book to read, had it not been in poor taste.

Wisteria and ivy...what a combination!

Seen frequently in window boxes, parsley and other herbs are included.

These hydrangeas appeared to be in pots and placed optimally.

The selection of plants for the boxes create great texture.

Many remain energized by gas as they were originally.

Simple and unique to this home.

Topped off with ducks about to fly off.

Additionally: Now through Friday, Peter Beaton offers their fabulous hats

A Sconset for me.

Who's knocking on the door?

Double doors = double knockers

Looks nearly like a devil mask to me.

A foxy fellow!

This one appears to have been polished ... a lot.

Peace to all who enter.
Next: wee walkways.
