The latest Love stamp courtesy of USPS.
Commonly used for wedding invites, the word love can always be found
somewhere on the stamp.
Very nicely done.

Remarkable Creatures

According to Ms. Chevalier's website, her latest book,
Remarkable Creatures will be published in early January 2010. Can't wait. Love her writing.
Additionally, the theatrical production of
The Girl with the Pearl Earring is scheduled to open in London's West End in September. Soon to be seen in the USA, one can only hope.

Keswick Hall: Charlottesville, VA

The Colonel and I spent the Fourth of July weekend at Keswick Hall, just outside of Charlottesville for golf, good food and relaxation in a gorgeous, bucolic setting. You may click on the pictures for even finer detail.

All rooms are individually appointed with period antiques.

This mantel clock was located on the mantel of the fireplace.

I loved the frame on this hunt art which was located in the bath.

Dinner, in Fossett's, named for Thomas Jefferson's cook, was served on china which featured a Thomas Jefferson cipher.

George Washington stopped in to the tavern for some libations on the Fourth.

This little pug greets visitors upon arrival.

Hallways are filled with English antiques.

Balloon rides were available.

A view from our room of the gardens and course.

All cords were wrapped in fabric. The Laura Ashley influence was present.

The infinity swimming pool is barely visible here.

A view of the manor from the course.

The armoire in our room had beautiful inlaid wood.

Windsor Castle: A Royal Year

Just finished up this outstanding documentary which chronicles life in the Royal residency, courtesy of Netflix.
Definitely worthwhile, if you consider yourself an Anglophile.
