Major Pettigrew's Last Stand

Helen Simonson, a transplanted Brit to the US, has written a wonderful story in
Major Pettigrew's Last Stand.  Humorous and heartwarming, the book has lots of Britishisms and offers much hope for aging widows and widowers.

...and the book cover for the UK printing is lovely also.

Worth a read, for sure.

I like both covers. I'll be on the lookout for this book with the US cover. Thanks for the recommendation.

I found a copy in our local used bookstore today. $7.50. Can't beat the price! Thanks for the tip.

I came to your blog via Rosemary's wonderful Content in a Cottage.
