Yesterday, my iPod was plugged into the USB to my Mac Air charging. Hiss, hiss..... it began to fizzle, spit and smoke! Apparently, the batteries can become hot and catch fire! Seems Apple forgot to tell me about the possibility of such a thing. Google for more stories of episodes. :/
