nesting is for the birds...

I have long collected nests after the momma birds have finished them off.

Faux eggs have been inserted.

Here is by far my most prized nest, and over 20 years old. This nest was found in a low bush just outside my house when I lived in Kansas. Directly behind our building was a horse barn. The diminutive nest was lined with perfection with horse hair to keep those little eggs warm and cushioned.

What a wonderful collection. I love your beautiful photographs too. Have a great Memorial Day weekend. Going to any parades or picnics? ♥Rosemary

Thank you, Rosemary! My 84 yo, WWII veteran father is visiting, so we went in to the WWII Memorial today. A gorgeous day in Washington with many, many bikers descending on the Viet Nam Veteran's Memorial! Have a great weekend and enjoy the warmer temps.

I always brush the dog outside. He's an english lab with loads of double-coated fur, so there's loads. The other day, I was brushing him and a bunch of sparrows flew down and took tufts.
