Last night, the Colonel and I attended a fundraiser for this years' National Cherry Blossom Festival. I found lots of yummy morsels to nosh and nibble, all containing cherries. I was especially delighted with a salad which featured a red leaf lettuce, a slice of brie with a cherry dressing. The centerpieces were splendid, many containing the forced blooms from the cherry trees.

Cold Comfort Farm
This zany, quirky, satirical “talkie” features a very young Kate Beckinsale as Flora Poste, initially known as “Robert Poste's child”. In need of a place to spend some time after the death of her father, Miss Poste travels to the bucolic home of family members on Cold Comfort Farm. Here her work begins. She sets out precisely to make each and every peculiar character contented with themselves, whether they like it or not. Silly at times with humorous lines abounding, the movie delights with a pleasurable conclusion.
Based on the book by the same name by Stella Gibbons.

"I used to be Snow White, but I drifted."
Mae West
Today, I have a glistening blanket of snow which is now drifting with the wind.
Late fall, I purchase two over-sized boxwood wreaths from the local nursery. One for the anterior door and the other for the posterior, they remain until the spring. I simply change up the ribbons occasionally to suit the pending holiday. Remove and place leaned on the deck in the spring and summer months where they bake to fine shades of biscuit brown and tawny tan.
