Mud pies

Seeds are planted in little starter containers.

They look like mud pies setting on the dining room floor waiting to sprout.

Love-in-the Mist (Nigella)

Gerbera Daisy

Cockscomb (Celosia)

Foxglove

Brown-eyed Susan (Tick seed)

Lord Baltimore Hibiscus

Cleome

White Echinacea

Just as the danger of frost passes, four to six weeks from now,

they will be ready to plant in the garden.

Many thanks to those who harvested these seeds for me last fall.

All that's left is a band of gold...

Why does Denny Crane wear a ring on his left hand?
To me, it appears to be a wedding band.
No?

Grammar Girl, here.

I walk and I walk, then walk a little more. I do so to maintain a healthy weight, manage the cholesterol numbers and continue with generally good health.

While walking I listen to the Ipod: mostly favorite tunes and some pod casts. One particularly splendid podcast is that of Grammar Girl. GG provides short bits of quick and dirty tips on how to be a better writer. She offers valuable suggestions on sentence structure, usage, punctuation and writing styles. What better way to enhance your blogging skills!

A tea for me...

Have you seen the latest in tea bags? They now come in the shape of pyramids to allow a better flow of water, presumably. Actually, this is not a new phenomena. Pyramid bags are prevalent in the UK. My favorite so far in the

If you have ever had the iced tea at PF Chang's and loved it as I do, this tea will remind you of it. Steeping hot or iced, it has a smooth fruity flavor; perfect accompanied by a slice of lemon and a teaspoon of Splenda.
This is definitely ... a tea for me.

Little Miss

I recently watched the movie Little Miss Sunshine on DVD. I must admit, the temptation to turn it off soon after it began crossed my mind. Just as it seems it can not possibly get any more depressing, aberrant and/or dysfunctional, things begin to look somewhat better for the Hoover family. Thankfully, it has a joyful ending complete with a great family bonding scene. I am unsure how it was that Alan Arkin won an Academy Award for "best actor in a supporting role". Consider this. Grandpa (Arkin) literally "checks out" halfway through the movie and is totally absent from its best parts. If you are a 24 fan, you will be pleased to see Chloe make a cameo appearance. I was surprised. Had to stop the DVD, back up and check that it was in fact Chloe. Olive, played by Abigail Breslin, makes the movie. Watch for her to rise to new occasions in the film industry. Apparently, she wore a "fat suit" while shooting scenes. She was definitely impressive.

Something I might say...

Tea might just be the worlds' most perfect beverage.
Twinings of London

I have been spending some time researching the web for a way to improve this boring, generic format for my blog (definitely not my style). Look forward to improvements real soon!
